PASTOR'S BIO
Collin Ferguson, a visionary leader and educator, has been at the helm of Words To Live By Christian Center as its President and Teacher since May 1997. A proud alumnus of the University of Illinois at Chicago, Collin earned his degree in Economics in 1984, igniting a passion for sales that led him to a fulfilling 17-year career with Ryerson Steel. There, he excelled in various sales roles, ultimately managing a team of nine and generating an impressive $65 million in sales revenue.
Beyond his professional achievements, Collin's true calling lies in education and mentorship. With a heart for families and young adults, he has dedicated himself to teaching principles that encourage the pursuit of higher education and the development of strong interpersonal skills. His teachings emphasize the importance of character, integrity, and a purpose-driven life, underpinned by God's desire for individual success.
Collin's approach to leadership and team-building is informed by his extensive experience in customer service and consultancy, fostering a vision that aligns practical life needs with God's plan. Since taking the lead at Words To Live By Christian Center, he has committed to imparting a practical understanding of God's love, aiming to unlock the potential within each individual through empowerment by the Word of God.
His education and mentorship journey is further enriched by training under several prominent spiritual leaders, including Bishop I.V. Hilliard of New Light Christian Center. Ordained in 2001, Collin has expanded his impact through the former initiative like the "Words to Live By" radio program and ongoing dynamic speaking engagements that translate biblical principles into real-life action.
Residing in Naperville, Illinois, with his wife Danielle, who frequently engages in teaching and mentorship, Collin is a family man at heart. They have four adult sons, each forging their own successful path in leadership, embodying the values and principles instilled in them. The Ferguson family, along with the Words To Live By community, continue to meet and grow in faith, eagerly anticipating the return to their regular Sunday mid morning service location in Oakbrook Terrace after renovations, with a vision to strengthen the fabric of society both locally and globally."
